Bernstein Family Updates, with Jamie Bernstein
March 28, 2024 @ 1:00-2:15pm
It’s been a busy time for Jamie and her family. They celebrated the release of Maestro, Bradley Cooper’s film about the marriage of their father, Leonard, and their mother, Felicia Montealegre. Jamie recently participated in a podcast about Leonard’s deep connection to Gustav Mahler – which circles the conversation back around to Maestro. In yet more Maestro connections: Mallory Portnoy and Nick Blaemire, the talented young duo who portrayed Bernstein's frequent collaborators Betty Comden and Adolph Green in the film, recently performed Comden & Green material at the Café Carlyle in NYC. Jamie and her sister Nina pitched in! And in Jamie’s recent writing project, in which each chapter relates to one of her body parts, she focuses on Ears – which is actually her exploration of the experience of listening to music. Jamie is the author of the 2018 memoir, Famous Father Girl, and is a narrator, broadcaster, and filmmaker.
