What Do You Think? Discussion, with Bill Goldman

What Do You Think? Discussion, with Bill Goldman
January 16, 2024 @ 2:45-4:00pm

This course is a group discussion of current events, focusing on significant economic, social, and political issues in the news. A few key articles from major newspapers and journals will be sent to students in advance to read so we can come to talk about our views on the subjects. We want to hear what you think! Bill has led current events discussion courses at SUNY New Paltz and Bard Lifelong Learning Institute; retired foreign service officer, US Agency for International Development.

The articles for this week’s discussion are an explanation why the US needs to stop being a nation of losers, a brief review of our immigration policies and the border problem, and  an expert view why our fear of cancer is outdated and harmful. Please read the articles in advance so we can discuss them together. Bill looks forward to zooming with you.

1.) Why the United States needs to stop being a nation of losers
